This website is designed to promote research on and activities around a project charting the contribution made by writers’ organisations to the history of global debates around free expression.
The project team are based in the UK and in France but the project wishes to draw on global debates and international implications through its partners at PEN International .
It seeks to encourage debate between researchers, writers and the public across the world around issues of writers organisations and free expression and literature and to act as a focal point for those researching these issues.
It brings together resources around the history, impact and contemporary application of debates about free expression and to encourage collaboration and fuel discussion around these issues.
